Frequent Questions

How long can you reserve for?

The duration of your rental reservation is 5-Nights.
It will be dropped off at your residence on Thursday between 4-8pm.   
The game will picked up the following Tuesday between 4-8pm.

What is the Rental Reservation period?

The reservation can be made until Wednesday 6pm for the delivery on Thursday between 4-8pm. 

Can I extend my reservation?

Yes the reservation can be extended.  Please email us at gamerentals@proton.me to arrange the extension. 

Can I cancel my reservation?

Yes, you can cancel your reservation at any time as long as it has not started (3pm Thursday) Please email us at gamerentals@proton.me

What do I need to do before my reservation ends and game(s) are picked up?

Please take the following steps before the end of your reservation:
1) Using the Checklist provided, please verify that everything is complete and put all components back as indicated. 
2) Put the games back in the provided box.
3) Make sure that the games are at the address provided. The delivery driver will typically pass by between 4pm and 8pm. If you are unable to be home during that time, please refer to the Q&A for this purpose.

Am I guaranteed to get all the board games I rented?

Unfortunately, no. In most cases, you will receive all the board games you reserved. However, due to late returns, losses, damages, or other unforeseen circumstances, there may be rare instances where we cannot fulfill your entire reservation. Our rental system is designed to minimize these occurrences, but if it happens, we will notify you. Any unavailable board games will be removed from your reservation, and you will not be charged. We can also assist you in selecting a substitute or making other adjustments to your booking. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience.

What can I expect from rented board games?

We will provide you with complete board games with all pieces required to play.  We may re-organize, modify or include additional components to the board games to either protect the board games and their components or to provide you with a better game experience. Modifications or additions made to the board games can include sleeving of cards, providing deck boxes, lamination of rulebooks and other easily torn components. In order to provide a better play experience, the board games are re-organized in different labeled bags. We may also include other items for environmental purposes, such as dry erasable pens and boards. We will not intentionally replace or modify any of the components from the original game or make the board game different than intended. Please note that due to usage, damages or losses, we may substitute original components.

What is expected of us when renting board games?

As members, you are responsible for all rented board games and their components, and must treat them with care and respect. It is strictly forbidden to modify the board games or components, such as removing cards from their sleeves and substituting any of the components. Please note that some board games may contain components that are not appropriate for young children. Some board games may also contain mature contents not suitable for a non-adult audience. You are responsible of supervising the use of the rented board games at all time.

Missing components or damages upon delivery?

We always confirm that our board games are complete before each rental. If you notice any missing components or damages in your rented board games, please contact us within 24 hours of receiving them. We will try our best to replace the missing or damaged components if they prevent you from being able to play. Please note that damages on some board games may already be identified with stickers. In those cases, no need to advise us since we are already aware of them.

What is the Checklist?

The Checklist that can be found with each board game, it contains the list of all components so you can verify that nothing is missing and place all components back to their initial location as indicated. In the Checklist, you can also leave your comments and rate the board game. 

What happens if I'm late on a return?

We count on the board games being available for pick up during our pick up window which is Tuesdays between 4-8pm. As we have future rentals starting on Thursday we need the games available for the next bookings. If you are not around during the pick up window on Tuesday between 4-8 pm your rental reservation will be automatically extended by 5-nights.  

What are the fees for lost/damaged components?

Before we get into the details, it is important to understand that we set these terms in order to protect our rentals so that other members can enjoy them afterwards. Hence, we encourage members to take care of the board games. However, if there are any lost or damaged components, you may be charged a fee to replace them. You may also be charged an administrative fee of $5 for each board game that has lost or damaged components unless you have mentioned it when the games were delivered. All of our games are inspected and pieces counted after every rental to ensure they are complete and not damaged.  
The fee to replace lost or damaged components indicated on the Checklist is the following:
1) up to $5 for each damaged or lost component; or
2) Up to $20 or 50% of the undiscounted price of the board game, whichever is lower, for each damaged or lost component that is a Game Board or unique to the board game; or
3) Up to 100% of the undiscounted price of the board game if the game is damaged  and cannot be used, for each damaged or lost component that is essential to the board game’s functionality and ability to be played. If the games is damaged and cannot be played it will be considered as sold and returned to the previous renter.  

What happens if I lose one or all board games?

If all board games in the reservation are lost, you will be charged the entire amount of the deposit + taxes. If some board game(s) are lost, you will be charged the value of the rental board game(s), which includes the cost of any protection or additional items provided and an administrative fee of $5 per lost board game. If the board games are returned in reasonable time with no additional issues, we may at its full discretion refund part or all of the charges. A non-refundable processing fee of 3% of the total charged amount will not be refunded to the Member.

Can I keep a board game and pay for it?

Unfortunately, no. The board games provided in rentals are not meant to be purchased since a lot of work goes into each of them. If you do not return a board game, it will be considered as lost and you will have to assume all charges and administrative fees related to a lost board game.

What is the rental deposit?

The rental deposit is required for all reservations. The deposit is done as a hold (pre-authorization) on your credit card. A pre-authorization is a temporary hold on funds and is NOT a charge on your credit card. The total amount of rental deposit is shown on the payment page during the checkout process, as well as in your email receipt. The deposit amount is based on the price of board games in the reservation, the price for any items that we included in the board games and a certain amount to cover administrative fees. Please note that depending on your financial institution, it may take up to 7 business days before the release appears on your statement. You are responsible of ensuring that your default credit card has enough funds available for any rental deposits.

What are the fees for delivery/return services?

The minimum charge for reservation is $16. The delivery cost will depend on the cost of the game being rented. For example, if a $6 game is rented the delivery and pick up would be capped at $10. If the game rental is $8 the delivery will be $8. If the game rental is $16 the delivery is free. 

Which areas are included in your delivery zone?

We currently provide delivery/return services across most of city of Mission and eastern Abbotsford. 

Can I change my delivery information and options?
